presentan con los distintos medicamentos, los principales objetivos de esta ciencia es
identificar el perfil seguro del medicamento y su adecuado uso, apoyada en programas,
procedimientos y reportes para dicho fin.
Es importante tener clara la información a suministrar tal como datos del paciente,
información clara y detallada sobre el evento, cuando inicio, como se presentó, cual fue su
evolución , diagnóstico, otras enfermedades relacionadas, etc.
Existen entidades sanitarias encargadas de la centralización y estudio de estos datos como es
el caso del INVIMA cuyo fin es la inspección, vigilancia y control de calidad de los
medicamentos y velar por promover y proteger la salud de la población Colombiana.
Los farmacéuticos desempeñan una función importante en los sistemas de salud, por esto los
organismos reguladores deberían promover la participación de estos profesionales de la salud
en la normatividad y así tener una mayor actuación en la elaboración de los informes de los
efectos secundarios de los medicamentos a través de sistemas de farmacovigilancia, logrando
