Hemifacial microsomia is a congenital syndrome of the I and II branchial arches caracterized by asymmetrical hypoplasia of the facial skeleton (mandible, maxilla, temporomandibular joint, zygoma, temporal bone), external and middle ear and facial soft tissues.
