Bills, Purdue University, to ascertain your interest in and availability for a post in Iraq (lRAQS/SF/25) under the UNESCO field program. The post in question calls for an expert in soil reclamation. A copy of the job description giving details concerning this position and information relating to the UNESCO field program are enclosed. While as you no doubt know, the United States Government has neither the authority nor the responsibility for the actual selection of candidates, the Office of Education is eager to see as many Americans as possible participating in the UNESCO technical assistance program. Therefore, we are actively assisting the organ­ization in locating and recommending qualified individuals in this country. If you are interested in being considered a candidate for this position, it will be appreciated if you will complete 3 copies of the enclosed Curriculum Vitae form together with recent pass­port- size photographs and return them to this office. We will then be in a position to consider your application for submission to the Bureau of Personnel of UNESCO. Since all UNESCO applications are reviewed and evaluated by groups that are international in composition, we suggest that you provide in the appropriate spaces detailed information concerning your training and experience. Abbreviations should not be used. Fields of study and degrees earned should be stated in such a manner that persons not acquainted with the terminology of our educational system will be able to understand the type and quality of studies you have completed.
