Abstract
Observations made between 1933 and 1941 at an experimental station of the Kirov Railway, Murmansk, have been taken as the basis of this work. The purpose of these observations was to investigate the conditions causing snowslides and to explain the variation in slides due to the nature of their movements, the form of snow deposition, and the snow action on obstacles
