XVII as a species to be found in southern Spain (Romero Zarco, 2010a: 186). The first record of this species for the European flora was published one year later on the basis of a single exsiccatum collected in 1999 near Trafalgar Cape,  (Rudner & Deil, 2011): Spain, Andalusia, Cádiz province, Cabo de Trafalgar, 23.V.1999, Michel Rudner, FB 709.The delimitation of annual species is somewhat difficult and conflictive in this genus. So, the herbarium specimen was asked on loan to be investigated before the publication of the paper. Unfortunately the request was not attended immediately and the paper was published without a proper revision of the cited material.The specimen FB 709 contains several small, annual plants belonging to the Juncus bufonius aggregate, but definitely not related to J. maroccanus. Type material of J. maroccanus (Larache, Kirschner et al., 8 June 2002, PRA) has long anthers (c. 1.5 mm), 3 times as long as the filaments, and acute, subequal tepals. On the contrary plants from Trafalgar have 0.5 mm anthers, shorter than their filaments, and unequal tepals, the outer tepals acute and the inner ones obtuse-mucronate. Due to the scarcely developed inflorescence and flowers, small plants growing on sandy soils are more difficult to identify as usual. In this case however, the full collection can be identified as J. ranarius Songeon & E.P. Perrier, a species present in subsaline sites along the Atlantic coast of SW Spain (Romero-Zarco, 2010b). According to Kirschner et al. (2004: 375), plants of subsaline sites are absent from the type locality of J. maroccanus.ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS. Roem. & Schult., es de los de taxonomía más compleja entre las ciperáceas, dada la extrema reducción de sus caracteres tanto vegetativos como reproductores. Eleocharis uniglumis es una especie de preferencias halófilas, aunque también aparece en el interior sobre suelos generalmente básicos (Jiménez-Mejías & Luceño, 2008). Silvestre (1987a) no recogió la presencia de esta especie en Andalucía Occidental a pesar de que Rivas-Martínez
