On the poetic prosification in the work of Parthenius: The epistolary preface of the Ἐρωτικὰ Παθήματα

Abstract

La carta-prefacio de los Ἐρωτικὰ Παθήματα no puede ser interpretada de forma literal y sin tener en cuenta los tópicos y convenciones retóricas propias de la literatura prologal. El objetivo de este artículo es ofrecer un análisis de este breve texto desde los presupuestos programáticos de la poética helenística, poniendo especial énfasis en aquellos aspectos que pudieran estar en la base del fenómeno de prosificación de textos poéticos en este período.The epistolary preface of the Ἐρωτικὰ Παθήματα cannot be interpreted literally without considering the motifs and rhetorical conventions of the prologues. The aim of this article is to offer an analysis of this brief passage from the programmatic assumptions of Hellenistic poetics, with special emphasis on those aspects that could be at the basis of the process of prosification of poetic texts in this period
