Abstract
U međuratnom razdoblju dolazi do razvoja profesije fotoreportera, a fotografije koje bilježe razne javne događaje učestalo se objavljuju u ilustriranim časopisima poput revije Svijet čime fotografija postaje važnim medijem u prenošenju informacija. Međuratno razdoblje je ujedno obilježeno velikim promjenama u društvenom i političkom životu novonastale Kraljevine Srba, Hrvata i Slovenaca, te kasnije Kraljevine Jugoslavije, kada postepeno dolazi do aproprijacije folklornih elemenata kao vizualnih simbola kojima se ističe nacionalni ili nadnacionalni identitet pojedinca ili grupe. Tada tradicionalna seljačka odjeća dobiva novu funkciju kada se koristi prilikom raznih političkih, gospodarskih i kulturnih svečanosti te neformalnih manifestacija. Ovaj rad se bavi kontekstualizacijom i interpretacijom simboličkog značenja folklornih motiva, pretežito tradicionalne seljačke odjeće, u fotografiji ilustriranog tjednika Svijet. U radu se fotografija sagledava kao dokument iz kojeg se interpretira vizualni sadržaj, a u analizi građe je odabrana analitičko-interpretativna metoda uz pomoć interdisciplinarnog pristupa između povijesti umjetnosti i drugih srodnih disciplina.The profession of photojournalists developed in the interwar period and photographs capturing various public events are frequently being published in illustrated journals such as the magazine Svijet, making photography an important medium for transmitting information. The interwar period has also been marked by major changes in the social and political life of the newly created Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes, and later in the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, when folklore elements gradually become appropriated as visual symbols highlighting the national or supranational identity of an individual or group. Traditional peasant clothing gets a new function when used in various political, economic and cultural festivities and informal city manifestations. This paper deals with contextualisation and interpretation of the symbolic meaning of folk motifs, predominantly traditional peasant clothes, in the photography of the illustrated magazine Svijet. In this paper, photography is viewed as a document from which the visual content is interpreted and in which an analytical-interpretative method was chosen in the analysis of the material with the help of an interdisciplinary approach between art history and other related disciplines
