Inteligencja emocjonalna - możliwości jej wykorzystania w edukacji międzykulturowej

Abstract

The relation between creative participation of the individual in the world’s variety and forming one’s own auto- -narration, biography, can be outlined in many ways. One of them seems to be indicating and implementing the idea of intercultural education, understood as communicative travelling to the borderlands - one’s own and of THE OTHER’S - in order to search for the value of difference. To fulfill such intentions, it becomes important to apply certain distance to one’s own self and one’s own culture, which triggers the openning to the culture of THE OTHER. The shape of such communication depends on the coexistence of three components: the feedback in relations with the environment, the agreement concerning meanings and the empathic undertaking of the role of the receiver. It is here that the role of emotional intelligence appears, as its significant elements are: the ability to feel the world together with someone else and the insight into interpersonal relations from the point of view of THE OTHER
