Abstract

Octopus rapanui, new species, is described from Easter Island. It is distinguished from other Indo-Pacific species by a combination of characters including the shape of the lower mandibular rostrum, long rachidian radular teeth, large secondary diverticulum of the penis and long, slender posterior salivary glands
