This bachelor thesis deals with the translation of selected chapters from the guidebook DuMont direkt Reiseführer Leipzig written by Susann Buhl. The thesis consists of two parts: a translation of the German source text into Czech and a theoretical commentary to it. The commentary contains a translation analysis of the source text based on the model of Christiane Nord, followed by a translation method, a typology of selected translation problems and translation shifts with demonstrative examples.
