Wstęp. Po zakończeniu hospitalizacji z powodu udaru mózgu 68,5% pacjentów wraca do domu, gdzie opiekę nad nimi
sprawują: małżonek, dziecko, rzadziej osoby obce lub członkowie dalszej rodziny. Rodzina w Polsce jest podstawową
jednostką, która zapewnia opiekę i wsparcie osobom chorym, starym i zniedołężniałym. Gwarantuje ona pomoc w zakresie
czynności samoobsługowych, gospodarczych, w załatwianiu spraw urzędowych, w przemieszczeniu się, a także zapewnia
całodobową opiekę. Z pomocy bezpłatnej opieki formalnej najczęściej korzystają osoby mieszkające samotnie, stanu wolnego.
Celem pracy było określenie problemów osób opiekujących się pacjentem po przebytym udarze mózgu, przebywającym
w środowisku domowym.
Materiał i metody. Posłużono się techniką ankietowania. Narzędziem badawczym był kwestionariusz, skonstruowany na
potrzeby tej pracy, który zawierał pytania z zakresu poszczególnych sfer życia opiekunów. W badaniu uczestniczyło
30 opiekunów z terenu miasta Olsztyn.
Wyniki i wnioski. Autorzy stwierdzili, że problemy opiekunów dotyczą sfer życia fizycznej, emocjonalnej i społecznej.
Niemal połowa opiekunów (47%) zaobserwowała, że po podjęciu opieki zaczęła częściej chorować, a większość nich (73%)
deklarowała konieczność zmiany trybu życia. 66% respondentów odczuwało satysfakcję ze sprawowanej opieki, 20% - złość
na chorego, a 43% stwierdziło, że chory robi im na złość. Ponad połowa opiekunów (60%) ograniczyła kontakty towarzyskie.
Jedynie 17% badanych deklarowało konieczność rezygnacji z pracy zawodowej, a 13% - jej ograniczenie. Znaczna część
badanych (67%) odczuwała pogorszenie warunków życia. Około 1/3 respondentów (33,3%) stwierdziła, że wystarczające
wsparcie daje im rodzina i przyjaciele, zaś 20% badanych oceniło, że wsparcie instytucjonalne jest wystarczające. Najczęściej
badani zgłaszali zapotrzebowanie na następujące formy pomocy: pomoc finansową, zastąpienie w opiece nad chorym,
pomoc w wykonywaniu czynności opiekuńczych i pielęgnacyjnych oraz poszerzenie wiedzy medycznej. Ponad połowa
badanych opiekunów przyznała się do zażywania środków nasennych, przeciwdepresyjnych czy uspokajających.Introduction. When the hospitalization after cerebral stroke is over the 68.5% of patients return home, where they are looked
after by a spouse, a child, less frequently a stranger or members of a more remote family. In Poland, the family is a basic unit,
which gives care and support to the ill, old, decrepit. Family members provide a 24-hour assistance with self service
activities, household duties, taking care of official matters or moving around. Most frequently, it is single people living on
their own who take advantage of these free, formal assistance service.
The aim of this paper was to specify the problems that caregivers of patients after cerebral stroke might have as well as to
specify the tasks of a nurse in solving these problems.
Material and methods. This thesis uses a survey technique, the research tool being a survey questionnaire was created for
the purpose of the paper, and contains questions about particular spheres of the caregivers’ lives. In the research
30 caregivers from Olsztyn region have participated.
Result and conclusions. The results of the research show that the caregivers’ problems are of physical, emotional and
social nature. Almost half of the carers (47%) think that they became more illness-prone after they began their work, and the
majority (73%) declares the necessity to change their lifestyles. More than half of the respondents (66%) are satisfied with
their work as caregivers, some (20%) feel anger towards their patients, and 43% of respondents think that the patients act
out of spite. Only a few respondents had to resign (17%) or limit (13%) their work activities. Quite a lot (67%) feel that their
lives have deteriorated. Some respondents (33.3%) think that they get sufficient support from their families and friends, and 20% of the subjects feel that the institutional support is sufficient. In order of frequency of occurrence, the demand for the
following forms of help was diagnosed: financial help, substitution in care taking, assistance in care taking and nursing
activities, medical help, and others. In result of the physical, emotional and social problems as well as lack of help, more than
half of the respondents confirm that they take sleeping pills, sedatives and antidepressants
