The term executive functions (EF) is used to refer to the control processes associated with complex goal-directed behavior(selection, initiation, execution and monitoring of behavioral and emotional responses). It is believed that these deficitsare responsible for the worse functioning of patients with schizophrenia. Therefore, early diagnosis of the problem anddevelopment of rehabilitation strategies can bring significant clinical benefits in this group of patients. This article is anoverview of more interesting methods used in the diagnosis and rehabilitation of cognitive disorders.Określenie funkcje wykonawcze (EF) używa się w odniesieniu do procesów kontrolnych związanych z kompleksowym zachowaniem ukierunkowanym na cel (wybór, inicjowanie, wykonywanie i monitorowanie reakcji behawioralnych i emocjonalnych).
