Oprócz powszechnie znanych najczęstszych przyczyn nadczynności

należy także pamiętać o innych, rzadszych chorobach
prowadzących do nadmiaru hormonów tarczycy w surowicy.
Autorzy przedstawili problem nietypowych postaci tyreotoksykozy
przebiegających bez nadmiernej produkcji hormonów
tarczycy i charakteryzujących się niskim 24-godzinnym
wychwytem 131J przez gruczoł tarczowy. Ponadto w artykule
omówiono tak zwane maski hipertyreozy, do których
zalicza się postać apatyczną, nerwowo-mięśniową, żołądkowo-
jelitową i sercowo-naczyniową.Except from well-known the most frequent reasons of the
hyperthyroidism such as the Graves-Basedow disease, multinodular
goitre and the autonomous adenoma we should
also remember the other rarer illnesses leading to the excess
of thyroid hormones in the serum. Authors presented the
problem of atypical forms of thyrotoxicosis which run without
the overproduction of thyroid hormones and are characterized
by low 24 h 131 J uptake by the thyroid gland. So
called masks of hyperthyroidism such as apathetic, neuromuscular,
gastrointestinal and cardiovascular forms were
also discussed in the article
