This study aimed to describe the hegemony of a Javanese woman in the novel by Dandang A. Dahlan with the title Penari. The underlying theory is hegemony by Anthonio Gramsci. Mechanical analysis starts from literary texts and express authorization of Javanese women in accordance with the concept of hegemony Gramsci is a power or dominion over life values, norms, and culture of a society that eventually turned into the doctrine of the other communities in which the group is dominated not feel oppressed and feel it as it should be. The analysis showed that the novel Penari revealed about the life of Javanese woman named Ganis in living his life which was originally to be a dancer then became a businessman's wife and finally she also jump directly manage the company because her husband was experiencing adversity. The role of women is not the slightest made her feel dominated by the woman even though she is a manager of the company and replace the roles of her husband. Ganis successfully domination without causing feeling forced or dominated at parties in her dominated. Novel Penari creat by Dandang A.
