The document analysed in this paper is interesting from severa! points of view. It demonstrates the value of the monstrance of this Parish Church and at the same time it provides evidence for a revaluation of the work of the Granada silversmith Francisco Tellez . Further, it gives proof of the vitality and quality of this art in 16th century Granada.El documento que es objeto del estudio destaca por varias razones: una porque con él se pone de manifiesto la valía de la custodia de esta Iglesia Parroquial de Loja, otra porque igualmente se valora el lugar destacado que debió tener el platero Francisco Tellez en la ciudad de Granada, y en último lugar se deja ver la pujanza y categoría que este arte tuvo en la Granada del siglo XVI
