Abstract
The preface of Spinoza’s Theological Polictical Treatise presentsa theory of superstition, which is divided in three parts. In the firstone, Spinoza show the psychological genesis of superstition. In thesecond, he uses an historical example to prove his thesis and, at last, heshows how superstition has been used by monarchy with political ends.We will analyze each part of this theory of superstition and, in the end,we will see in what manner the three of them are linked.O prefácio do Tratado Teológico-Político contém uma teoriada superstição com três partes2. Na primeira, Espinosa expõe a gênesepsicológica da superstição; na segunda, utiliza um exemplo históricopreciso para comprovar sua tese; na terceira, expõe o uso político dasuperstição para mostrar como a monarquia vive de sua exploração.Analisaremos separadamente cada parte para, no fim, mostrar como searticulam formando a teoria da superstição
