Abstract

This paper studies the original and the renewed techniques of power control used by Pará's oligarchies, as well as the factors that led toits decline and revitalization. It also discusses the attempts of rearticulation that favor clientelism as the link between the various levels of power.Estudam-se, neste artigo, as formas originais e renovadas de controle do poder, utilizadas pela oligarquia paraense, bem como os fatores que influenciaram fases de seu declínio e revigoramento. Discutem-se também as tentativas de rearticulação que privilegiam o clientelismo como elo entre os escalões do poder
