National Evaluation of Courses: an analysis of the relations between evaluations, qualifications and commitments of teachers in Administration schools of during 2000, 2001 and 2002

Abstract

An evaluation was made of the relations between the ratings obtained by the schools of Administration in the National Evaluation of Courses and the respective profiles of qualification and commitment of teachers in 2000, 2001 and 2002. Results describe the distribution of the educational institutions based upon the variables of rating achieved, geographic location and administrative category. Statistical correspondence analysis disclosed the association between the top rating "A' and the higher percentages related to professors with a doctorate title and full time commitment. The work concludes with factors that may hinder an improvement of teacher ratings for commitment and qualification. They include the time required for a doctorate title, the asymmetry between the systems of graduation and post graduation in Administration and the remuneration system for class hours as well as exposing the limitations and opportunities for research.Este trabalho busca evidenciar a relação entre os conceitos obtidos pelas escolas de Administração no Exame Nacional de Cursos e seus respectivos perfis de qualificação e de dedicação docente em 2000, 2001 e 2002. Em seus resultados, descreve a distribuição das instituições de ensino a partir das variáveis "conceitos obtidos", "localização geográfica" e "categoria administrativa". Emprega, ainda, o método estatístico de análise de correspondência para ilustrar a associação entre conceitos "A" e elevados percentuais de professores com doutorado e dedicação exclusiva. Nas considerações finais, o trabalho aponta possíveis fatores impeditivos da melhoria dos índices de dedicação e qualificação docente (como o tempo demandado para a formação de doutores, a assimetria entre os sistemas de graduação e pós-graduação em Administração e a sistemática de remuneração por horas-aula) e expõe limitações e oportunidades para novas pesquisas
