Border transit: the contemporary faces of the Bolivian population displacement based on the narratives of migration studies’ researchers

Abstract

Este artigo estabelece um diálogo com as entrevistas dos intelectuais bolivianos resultante da dissertação de mestrado, para a qual foi coletado um total de vinte e sete histórias de vida. Este artigo contemplará a análise dos discursos dos intelectuais bolivianos sobre o processo de deslocamento dos emigrantes bolivianos no período contemporâneo. Assim, suas narrativas serão analisadas com base em um diálogo entre suas linhas de argumentação enfatizando a diáspora boliviana, a feminização da imigração e a nova constituição da família no contexto migratório. Almeja-se indagar sobre a pluralidade de discursos interpretativos do processo de deslocamento dos bolivianos no contexto latino-americano, para, com isso, garantir a diversidade de posicionamentos frente a tal acontecimento. Esse processo reflexivo dará suporte para se pensar na historicidade dos deslocamentos populacionais contemporâneos.This article establishes a dialogue with Bolivian intellectuals’ interviewsthat resulted from the master thesis, for which a total of twenty seven lifestories was collected. This article will cover the analysis of the discourses ofBolivian intellectuals about the process of the displacement of Bolivianimmigrants in the contemporary period. Thus, their narratives will be analyzedbased on a dialogue with their lines of argumentation emphasizing the Boliviandiaspora, the feminization of immigration and the new family constitution inthe context of migration. The aim is to inquire about the plurality of interpretativediscourses on the process of Bolivians displacement in Latin- Americancontext, in order to thereby ensure the diversity of positions on this event.
