LINGUISTICA ATLANTICA  NO. 36(2), 2017       NOTE FROM THE EDITORS / NOTE DES ÉDITEURS     Linguistica Atlantica (LA) has a long-standing tradition of publishing research in linguistics, and representing the Atlantic Provinces Linguistic Association. In 2018, LA will celebrate 40 years since its first appearance in 1978 under its name of Journal of the Atlantic Provinces Linguistic Association, and in 2016, it will have its 25th anniversary under the current name. The journal has been published online since 2010. Starting from 2018, Paul De Decker (Memorial University of Newfoundland) will be the new editor-in-chief of the journal. We would like to thank Paul for taking on this leadership role.          LA is a free online journal publishing peer-reviewed articles in any subfield of descriptive, theoretical and applied linguistics. Its goal is to promote linguistic research in Atlantic Canada and beyond. Graduate students and young scholars are encouraged to submit their manuscripts.   ***            La revue Linguistica Atlantica (LA) a une longue tradition dans la publication de la recherche en linguistique et depuis plusieurs années elle représente l’Association de linguistique des provinces atlantiques. En 2018, LA célébrera ses 40 ans depuis sa première parution en 1978 en tant que la Revue de l’association de linguistique des provinces atlantiques, et en 2016 elle aura son 25e anniversaire sous son nom actuel. La revue est publiée en ligne depuis 2010. À partir de 2018, Paul De Decker (Université Memorial de Terre-Neuve) sera le nouveau rédacteur en chef de la revue. Nous voudrions remercier Paul d’avoir pris cette initiative.   LA est une revue électronique gratuite publiant des articles évalués dans tous les domaines de la linguistique descriptive, théorique et appliquée. Son objectif est de promouvoir la recherche en linguistique au Canada atlantique et au-delà. Les étudiants des cycles supérieurs, ainsi que des jeunes chercheurs sont encouragés d’envoyer leurs manuscrits.
