Television today has become an integral part of human life. In accordance with the
changing times which is always forward, many private television stations provide entertainment
treats are following the trend, of course, is always interesting and packed in different shades
always another station. Television stations that exist in the country seemed to compete airs
infotainment events. Although the shows are different but the display name and claims to be the
most authentic, courageous and trustworthy. The purpose of this study was to determine public
opinion on infotainment on television. Practical usefulness of this study is to provide input and
consideration on the part of a television station in packaging especially on infotainment shows.
Theoretical usefulness as a reference and add the reference library for other researchers who
conduct research on infotainment on television.
The foundation of the theory used in this study SOR theory, according to this theory the
impact or effect that occurs on the receiving end, is essentially a particular a (stimulus) specific.
Methods of data analysis in this study using frequency tables are used to describe the data
obtained from interviews based on questionnaires filled in by the respondent. Population in this
research is the area of Surabaya in Surabaya East and South Surabaya, amounting to 100 people.
Sampling technique in this study was multistage cluster random sampling. Processing of the data
obtained from the questionnaire consists of: editing, coding, and entering data in the tabulation of
data to be further analyzed descriptively any questions.
Results of this study indicate that the overall opinion of the respondents in this research
that the society especially in the area of Surabaya Surabaya Surabaya East and South are in a
category of positive opinion. It can be concluded that the public opinion especially Surabaya and
