International Journal for Studies inMathematics EducationWe are pleased to announce the launch of anew issue of the International Journal for Studiesin Mathematics Education.The International Journal for Studies in Mathema-tics Education (IJSME/JIEEM) aims to stimulatereflection on mathematics education at all le-vels:– to generate productive discussion;– to encourage enquiry and research;– to promote criticism and evaluation of ideasand procedures current in the field.It is intended for the mathematics educatorwho is aware that the learning and teachingof mathematics are complex enterprises aboutwhich much remains to be revealed and under-stood. It reflects both the variety of researchconcerns within the field and the range of me-thods used to study them. We accept for sub-mission articles in Portuguese, English, Frenchand Spanish.The journal emphasizes high-level articles thatgo beyond local or national interest.
