Diagnóstico citológico das hepatopatias caninas

Abstract

O exame citopatológico do fígado tem sido cada vez mais utilizado na prática veterinária como meio diagnóstico de doenças hepáticas. A rapidez do diagnóstico e a simplicidade da técnica são as suas principais atrações e, apesar de suas limitações, como a não observação da arquitetura do tecido, varias alterações hepatocelulares podem ser identificadas com base nas características celulares. Outro ponto positivo é a baixa invasividade do procedimento, o que proporciona uma segurança na execução da técnica e um maior conforto ao paciente, que na maioria das vezes não necessita ser submetido a um procedimento anestésico. Neste trabalho foram revisadas as indicações, contra indicações, as técnicas de colheita de material e as principais hepatopatias diagnosticadas pela citologia hepática, dando ênfase às características citológicas de cada uma. Palavras chave: cão, fígado, hepatopatias, citologia ABSTRACT The cytopathologic exam of the liver is being more utilized in the veterinary practice as a way to diagnose hepatic disease. The quickness of the diagnostic and the simplicity of the technique are its main attractions and in spite of its limitations, as the non observation of the tissue architecture, a great number of hepatocelular disorders can be indentified based on the cellular characteristics. Another positive point of view is the low invasiveness of the procedure, which allows a security in the execution of the technique and comfort for the animal that, in the majority of times, donât need to be submitted to an anesthesic procedure. In this work were reviewed the indications, contra indications the techniques of material collection e the main hepatopaties diagnosed by hepatic cytology, with special refer to the cytological characteristics of each one.
