Do you have a preference on how werefer to you?2. Do you have any dietary preferences weshould know about?3. Is there anything that helps you to sleepbetter?4. Do you have any specific practices thathelps to improve your health?5. Are you willing to have any genderworking with you?• Patient’s answer to each question will becollected as a yes/no, while also having theability to expand and provide specificinformation for the RN• Will a tool to expand on the admissionquestion, “what cultural practices areimportant for us to know?” identify morepatient specific cultural practices  forpatients on 6B and 6C?• Improving culturally competent careinvolves applying knowledge of how cultureinfluences the patient’s health beliefs,practices, and communication (Beard,Gwanmesia, & Miranda-Diaz, 2015).• “Effective and respectful communication isessential to nursing process” (Marion, 2016 ).• “During the decision-making process,patients should be allowed to use theirvalues to guide their decision making”(Beard et al., 2015).• “Nurses are in positions ideally suited toadvocate for and lead inter-professionalterms to identify the cultural and linguisticneeds of the consumer” (Marion, 2016).Mario Carranza  BSN-RN, Sara McCarthy BSN-RN, Courtney Rittenhouse BSN-RN, Ashley Silberg BSN-RN Background PICO Question Evidence Implementation Outcome REFERENCES: Andrews, J.
