The Associated Students of The University of Montana 1 Resolution Amending House Rules 2 May 8, 2013 3 SB101-12/13 4 Authored by: Sean Schilke, ASUM Senator 5 Sponsored by: Nicole Watkins, ASUM Senator; Ryan Hazen, ASUM Senator 6  7 Whereas, The Associated Students of The University of Montana (ASUM) have a vested 8 interest in timely ASUM Senate meetings; 9  10 Whereas, if a customary practice is or becomes in conflict with the parliamentary 11 authority or any written rule, a Point of Order is all that is needed to have the custom fall 12 to the ground; 13  14 Whereas, ASUM should update its by-laws and policies to suit a changing organization; 15  16 Therefore, Let It Be Resolved, that a subsection shall be added Article 1, Section 2 of 17 ASUM House Rules which shall state:  18  19 The Senate may adopt its own form for resolutions, which may be updated from time to 20 time with a majority vote of the Senate, and shall be attached to these House Rules as an 21 appendix.  22  23  24 Passed by Committee: _____________________________, 2013 25  26  27 Passed by ASUM Senate: __________________________, 2013 28  29  30 ________________________________   ___________________________________ 31 Damara Simpson,       Bryn Hagfors, 32 Relations and Affairs Chair    Chair of the Senate 33
