This course focuses on introducing general programming concepts usingmultiple programming languages. This course will introduce all of these concepts through visualbased and written languages. There will be a number of hands-on opportunities so that you canbecome proficient in using these tools.• General Computing Concepts• Logical Reasoning and Critical Thinking• Multiple programing paradigmsAttendance:  Attendance is mandatory however I realize there are times when you must be absent. Pleasegive me advance notice of any absences, and I will provide you with the same courtesy.Class consists of a single lecture session on Monday 10:00 – 10:50am. The labs are from 10:00-10:50 am on Tuesday and Thursday for Section 01, 11:00-11:50 pm on Wednesday and Fridayfor Section 02. Classes are held in Social Sciences 254 and labs are held in Social Sciences 344.Grading:  Attendance 10% - Attendance will be taken during class AND labs­Top Hat 20%­Homework 50%­Final Exam 20%­                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             Grading Scale � 100-90 A, A-89-80 B+, B, B-79-70 C+, C, C-69-60 D+, D, D-59-and beyond FP/NP – pass/no pass, 70 or greater is passing determined by Computer Science Departmentpolicy, which is a C or better.Late Assignments: Late assignments will not be accepted. Late Drops:� The University’s policy on drops after 45 days of instruction is very specific. TheComputer Science Department follows this policy rigorously. There are fivecircumstances under which a late drop might be approved: registration errors, accidentor illness, family emergency, change in work schedule, no assessment of performance inclass after this deadline.
