The Associated Students of the University of Montana 1 Resolution Amending Missoula College Affairs Committee Bylaws 2 11/11/2016 3 SB41-16/17 4 Authored by: Stephanie Allison, ASUM Senator; Alex Butler, ASUM Senator; 5 Sponsored By: 6  7 Whereas, the Associated Students of the University of Montana (ASUM) is bound by its bylaws;  8  9 Whereas, students that attend the Bitterroot College and take 7 or more credits are required to 10 pay the ASUM Activity Fee; 11  12 Whereas, students that attend the Bitterroot College and take 6 or less credits can choose to opt-13 in and pay the ASUM Activity Fee; 14  15 Whereas, currently the Bitterroot College does not have the same representation as Missoula 16 College under the current bylaws;  17  18 Whereas, students that are required to pay the ASUM Activity Fee deserve the proper 19 representation, advocacy, respect and diligence regardless of location; 20  21 Therefore, Let It Be Resolved, that Article IV Section 17 of the ASUM Bylaws be amended to 22 be read as follows:                                                                                                                    23 Section 17. Missoula College and Bitterroot College Affairs Committee                                      24 A. The Missoula College and Bitterroot College Affairs Committee shall be composed of seven 25 (7) members, of which at least one (1) shall be a member of the Senate and at least two (2) shall 26 be students at-large from either the Missoula College or Bitterroot College. Any student may be 27 a non-voting advisory member of the Committee.                                                                              28 1.The committee shall be structured so that Missoula College and Bitterroot College students-at-29 large will maintain majority of voting membership.                                                                       30 B. A Missoula College or Bitterroot College student-at-large or an ASUM Senator shall chair 31 the committee.                                                                                                                                  32 C. The Committee shall be responsible for all activities occurring on Missoula College and 33 Bitterroot College campuses that affect the ASUM.                                                                       34 D. The Committee shall review the ASUM governing documents and recommend changes as 35 necessary to meet the representation needs of students attending the Missoula College and 36 Bitterroot College.                                                                                                                           37 E.
