The Associated Students of The University of Montana 1 Resolution Regarding Fee Transparency 2 April 16, 2014 3 SB89-13/14 4 Authored by: Eamon Ormseth, ASUM Senator 5 Sponsored by: Caleb Chestnut, ASUM Senator 6  7 Whereas, many students complain that they do not specifically know what different fees 8 fund in their University of Montana education; 9  10 Whereas, the Associated Students of the University of Montana (ASUM) and the 11 University of Montana (UM) provide robust yet cost-effective programs with said fees; 12  13 Whereas, an assessment, albeit one sparse in detail, does exist on Cyberbear; 14  15 Whereas, transparency promotes trust in ASUM and UM; 16  17 Therefore, Let It Be Resolved, that ASUM directs its website designer to create a 18 webpage listing the expenditures for the ASUM activity fee and the services that students 19 pay for; 20  21 Whereas, a webpage that lists student fees exists on UM’s Webpage; 22  23 Therefore, Let It Be Further Resolved, that ASUM requests that a hyperlink to ASUM’s 24 fee webpage be placed on the bottom of each Cyberbear registration and account balance; 25  26 Therefore, Let It Be Further Resolved, that, once ASUM’s fee webpage is created, 27 ASUM requests that a hyperlink to the umt.edu fee webpage be placed on the bottom of 28 each Cyberbear registration and account balance; 29  30 Therefore, Let It Be Further Resolved, that a copy of this resolution be sent to Matt Riley, 31 Chief Information Officer, Gordy Pace, IT Communications; Deborah Kelly, Student 32 Accounts Services, Griz Central; Mike Reid, Vice President of Administration and 33 Finance; and John McCormack, UM Business Services.  34  35  36 Passed by Committee: April 14, 2014 37  38 Passed by ASUM Senate: April 30, 2014 39 Final Vote: Unanimous Consent 40  41  42 ________________________________   ___________________________________ 43 SeanMcQuillan,       Mariah Williams, 44 Relations and Affairs Chair    Chair of the Senate 45
