The Associated Students of The University of Montana 1 Resolution Regarding Location of the Missoula College 2 September 25, 2013 3 SB12-13/14 4 Authored by:  Eamon Ormseth, ASUM Senator 5 Sponsored by:  Asa Hohman, ASUM President; Mariah Williams, ASUM Vice President 6  7 Whereas, the 2012-2013 The Associated Students of The University of Montana (ASUM) Senate 8 devoted significant amounts of time and resources in order to secure funding for a new building 9 for the Missoula College;  10  11 Whereas, these efforts resulted in an appropriation of $29 million from the 2013 Montana State 12 Legislature; 13  14 Whereas, the President’s Office recently expanded the list of locations under consideration for the 15 Missoula College to two, those being: 16 • South Campus 17 • East Broadway 18  19 Whereas, ASUM represents the interests of students from the Mountain Campus as well as the 20 Missoula College; 21  22 Whereas, the proposed Missoula College building and its location directly impact the welfare of 23 ASUM’s constituency; 24  25 Therefore, Let It Be Resolved, that ASUM endorses construction of the Missoula College at the 26 East Broadway location; 27  28 Therefore, Let It Be Further Resolved, that ASUM designates President Asa Hohman as the 29 spokesperson for its position regarding Missoula College; 30   31 Therefore, Let It Be Further Resolved, that President Asa Hohman communicates the position of 32 ASUM regarding the location for the new Missoula College to The Montana Kaimin and The 33 Missoulian. 34  35 Passed by Committee: _____________________________, 2013 36  37 Passed by ASUM Senate: __________________________, 2013 38  39  40  41  42 ________________________________  ___________________________________ 43 Jan Roddy,     Mariah Williams, 44 Relations and Affairs Chair   Chair of the Senate 45
