HOMEWORK:   All but the assignments for the day preceding an exam will be collected. Assignments will be reviewed for format, neatness, completeness and evidence of effort, but not "correctness". Late homework will not be accepted. You are encouraged to make corrections on the assignments (using a different color pen or pencil) as it is discussed in class.Completion of the assignments prior to each class period is an absolute necessity for the successful completion of this course and the fulfillment of criteria (b) for grading above.  Students will be asked to provide answers to the homework problems during the class discussions. Everyone will be called upon to provide answers during the course of the semester. Accounting 431 is a senior l evel course, and seniors are expected to be able to prepare themselves prior to class in order to understand the material and participate in the class discussions.The answer key to the homework problems will be posted on the GBB computer system on the da y after the homework is assigned.  You can access it only in the GBB Labs at Sentinel/Classes/JWeber/ACCT 431. If you lose this syllabus, there is also a copy posted there. Assignments may change with advance notice. You are responsible for these changes. RESEARCH PROJECT:  Separate instructions will be given for the research project. In order to complete the project, you will need to read Chapters 1 and 2 prior to starting the project. Failure to properly complete the project will reduce your cours e grade by a maximum of one letter grade. EXAMINATIONS:  All exams will be open book, but not open notes. You may make “modest” notations in your textbook prior to the exams. If you have a question whether these notations are appropriately “modest”, then have them approved by the instructor prior to the examination. NOTES :   No drop slips will be signed after October 15, the last day to drop/add courses per the spring semester class schedule. Accounting 312—Intermediate Accounting II is a pre -requisite for Acct 431.
