Fortenbaugh, Rutgers Michael G. Sollenberger, Washington University, "The Lives of the Peripatetics: Diogenes Laertius Vitae Philosophorum Book Five" Jurgen Mejer, University of Copenhagen, "Philosophical Lives: The Academics"  These four papers ate included in this packet, if you have paid your dues for the 1986/7 academic year.  Papers for the Pacific and Central Division meetings will be distributed in February, again to dues— payers. The Pacific Division papers will be: John Driscoll, "The Aporias of de Anima ÎII.4, 429b22~430a9,” and Julia Annas, "Epicurus on Pleasure and Happiness." The Central Division papers will be Richard Kraut, "Intrinsic Goods and Dominant Ends in Aristotle," and Christos Evangeliou, "Aristotle’s Critique of Platonic Utopias."  DUES Dues are $5 per year (17.50 Canadian), payable by check made out to SAGP (or Foundation 386). The last year for which you have paid dues is (should be) written on the mailing label of the envelope in which this notice arrives; if the number is lower than 86, and you plan to pay dues for the 86/87 academic year, we urge you to send your check now in order to receive the December papers in a timely fashion. We would also like to send you your Pacific and Central Division papers in the bulk mailing in February, rather than later, since we are able then to send them at a much seduced postal rate.  The Institute for Research in Classical Philosophy and Science and the University of Pittsburgh hosted an interdisciplinary conference entitled "The Interaction of Science and Philosophy in Fifth and Fourth Century Greece" May 30 to June 2, 1986. The speakers were Charles H. Kahn, Alexander P. D. Mourelatos, Joseph Owens, David H. Fowler, Wilbur R. Knorr, Alan C. Bowen, Andrew D. Barker, J. Lennart Berggren, Asger H. Aaboe, Geoffrey E. R. Lloyd, James G. Lennox, Robert G. Turnbull, and Ian Mueller. The conference was supported by grants from the Pennsylvania Humanities Council and the National Endowment for the Humanities. The proceedings of this conference will be published in 1987 by the Institute. J. B.
