The editors welcome articles reporting statistical research , theoretical con-siderations. or philosophical or historical concepts involved in communicating with the audiences of ACE members. Evaluations and tests by ACE members of their media methods also are welcome as are tips. reviews , and thoughtful editori· al comments . Submit four copies on 81hxl1 bond . Xerox copies are acceptable. But the edI-tors consider a submission to ACE Quarterly as a commitmenl nollo breached by submission to other journals while the article is under review. With each manu· script. enclose a self-addressed , stamped postcard. with the title of the article so the editors can acknowledge its receipt. The cover page should include the title of the article, the autho r(sl. the ir af· filiation . special fund ing or grants and agency . ACE·relevan! blographica! informa-tion , and whether or not a more detailed report is available from the author(s). Footnotes should be used only for substan tive comments abou t the text. Number them consecutively with superscripts within the text, but type Ihem se· ~ralety. References should be listed within the text itself between brackets , e.g. Lfarey. 197~]. Do not use ibid, op c~ loc cit. etc. If a reference is a direct quote , also include the page number, e.g. L.9arey , 1972 p. 20. For repeat citations from the same author, discriminate from one work and another produced within the same year with " a," " b." etc. e.g. (Carey , 1972a). Bibliographical entries should begin with the reference number and be listed in alphabetical order by the (first) author 's last name. Within each entry , list the fi rst author's las I name firsl and other authors regularly, Include full bibliograph ic information. Tables and figures should be submitted camera-ready in protective card-board .
