Inaddition to custom library swag, vegan burritos, and therapy dogs, LMU librarians and staffwere on-hand to answer questions about our services, collections, and research support.Our primary goal for this event was to familiarize students with the library (i.e. "reduce libraryanxiety") during their first semester at college, something which has been shown to increaseretention rates and academic success. As two student attendees noted: "I am so glad that the library threw this event because it gave students a chance to ask thequestions that they might be embarrassed to ask on the daily.""It was awesome. 11/10. I loved the scavenger hunt and the teddy bears and the raffle. Thestaff were very friendly and helpful and interested in answering questions."We're glad you had a good time!
