International audienceThe use of smart phones and similar devices are increasing day by day and mobile devices are moving towards becoming the mainstream computing hardware. In parallel, the number of mobile applications is increasing exponentially. Besides the many advantages of being mobile, in these applications limited battery power is a fundamental constraint. With "Energy Aware" programming techniques, the new generation of software developers are willing to spread the battery life time as long as possible. In this study, trends of energy consumption are examined for various types of mobile software in terms of software component. For this purpose, The energy profile PowerTutor software is used and without the use of additional hardware, details of energy consumption figures are reported. For selected types of mobile software, energy consumption ratio of GSM radio, processor, screen, sound system and GPS components is examined and a general characterization is sought about these applications.Özetçe-Akıllı cep telefonları ve benzer cihazların kullanım-ları gün geçtikçe artmakta ve mobil aygıtlar ana akım hesaplama donanımı olma yolunda ilerlemektedirler. Buna paralel olarak mobil market uygulamalarının da sayısı katlanarak artmaktadır. Geliştirilen uygulamaların en önemli artısı mobil olmalarının yanı sıra en temel olumsuzlukları kısıtlı pil enerjisine sahip olmalarıdır. Yeni nesil "Enerji Farkında" programlama teknikleri ile yazılım geliştiriciler pil ömrünü mümkün olan en uzun zamana yaymak istemektedirler. Bu çalışmada tipik olarak kullanılan mo-bil yazılım türleri için bileşen bazında enerji harcama egilimleri PowerTutor enerji profili yazılımı ile saptanmaya calışılmış ve ek bir donanımsal ölçüm aleti kullanılmaksızın detaylı enerji har-cama oranları raporlanmıştır. Seçilen mobil yazılım türleri için GSM radyo, işlemci, ekran, ses düzenegi ve GPS bileşenlerinin enerji harcama miktarları ve oranlarına bakılarak genel amaçlı karakterizasyon yapılmıştır.
