Impact of transportation on everyday life of population of the Sveti Ivan Žabno municipality

Abstract

Jedan od temeljnih čimbenika u svakodnevnom životu ljudi je promet. Križanje cestovnih pravaca prema Zagrebu, Križevcima i Bjelovaru te trasa željezničke pruge Bjelovar – Križevci omogućila je povoljan prometno – geografski položaj općine Sveti Ivan Žabno. Međutim, nemaju sva naselja u Općini jednaka prometna obilježja. Razlikuje se utjecaj prometa uz glavne prometnice i dalje od njih. Mladi i stari imaju više poteškoća u prometu od zrelog stanovništva. Uz glavnu prometnicu promet najviše utječe na sigurnost. U perifernom području smanjena je mogućnost korištenja javnog prijevoza zbog teže dostupnosti stanica javnog prijevoza.One of the fundamental factors in everyday life of people is transportation. The intersection of road routes towards Zagreb, Križevci and Bjelovar and the railway Bjelovar – Križevci has enabled favorable transport – geographical position of the municipality of Sveti Ivan Žabno. However, not all settlements in the municipality have the same transport characteristics. It differs the impact of transport along the main roads and in the periphery. Young and old people have more difficulties in transportation than the adult population. There is safety that is more affected to the main road transportation. In the peripheral area, the possibility of using public transport is reduced due to the more difficult availability of public transport stations
