Development of global cities

Abstract

U ovom radu se analizira način na koji su globalizacija i globalizacijski procesi utjecali na razvoj i nastanak globalnih gradova te na koji način su izmijenili njihova funkcionalna, društvena i morfološka svojstva. Proučit će se i promjene u kulturnim i ekonomskim promjenama u životu stanovništva današnjih globalnih gradova te pokušati objasniti pojam „globalni grad“.This paper analyses the ways in which, global processes and globalisation have affected the development and the making of global cities. Also, it focuses on discovering the changes in their functional, social and morphological attributes, caused by such processes. It will reflect on the cultural and economic changes in the lives of the population of global cities and try to explain the term “global city”
