Strategic Research Agenda  (2009) The Strategic Research Agenda presents a summary of research and development priorities for organic food and farming that will contribute to the sustainability and competitiveness of European organic agriculture and food systems. 61 research topics are clustered under two cross-cutting issues and three themes with 3 to 6 Key Challenges.  Implementation Action Plan (2010) Generating innovation through organic farming research  Further developing a participatory approach for knowledge generation and knowledge management  First ideas for the Horizon 2020 Research and collaboration Co-operation and networking  TP Organics was repres nt d by twospeakers at the hearingorganised by the E ropean Parliament n the Horizon 2020 Fr mework programme for research nd Innovation After six year of advocacy the role of TP Organics is recognised by the European Commission as part of the external advice and societal engagement needed to implement Horizon 2020.   Important achievements:  • Currently 26 of the 61 research topics identified in 2009 have been funded by European Commission or trans-national funding schemes.  • TP Organics enlarged its impact , not only European Research Framework Programmes (FP7 and Horizon 2020) but also ERA-NET (e.g. Core Organic Plus), Joint Programming Initiatives (e.g. FACCE JPI) and the European Innovation Partnerhsip “Agriculture Productivity and Sustanability”  • By the advocacy work of the Platform, Organic farming has been specifically mentioned in the legal texts of Horizon 2020 as one of the approaches contributing to societal challenges 2 and 5.    What has been planned ?  • Revision of the Strategic Research Agenda in order to allign needs of the sector to the new European Research Policies. 2014 -> 2015  • Publishing an “Innovation and Learning Action Plan”  – Demonstrate the innovation potential of organic farming and agroecology – Provide policy recommendations for supporting innovation in agriculture 2014   • EIP-AGRI – Establish dialogue with regions and enhance agroecological innovation in rural development programmes  • To increase impact of European organic research internationally  • To facilitate establishment of National Platforms  • Increase membership of SMEs   Thanks to all our supporters both financially and through their active participation and time.
