Mato BartoluciAutor je u ovom udžbeniku na sustavan način obradio razvoj turizma i poduzetništva u turizmu. Iako je područje turizma danas ši-roko zastupljeno u istraživanjima i literaturi, ipak određeni segmenti turističkog razvoja nisu dovoljno istraženi ni publicirani, po-sebno u Hrvatskoj. U ovom udžbeniku autor se bavi istraživanjem ekonomskih aspekata turizma s naglaskom na upravljanje razvo-jem turizma i poduzetništva kao temeljnog čimbenika njegova razvoja. Udžbenik je strukturno podijeljen u dva dijela. U prvom dijelu udžbenika razmatra se turistička poli-tika i razvoj turizma, dok se u drugom dijelu obrađuje poduzetništvo u funkciji razvoja turizma. Temeljna pitanja od kojih autor polazi u ovom udžbeniku su: Zbog čega se turiz-mom treba upravljati i kako upravljati tom složenom društveno-ekonomskom pojavom? Kako se može uspješno upravljati turizmom na razini turističke destinacije te u poslov-nim organizacijama koje se bave turističko djelatnošću? U traženju odgovora na ova i druga pitanja autor je pokušao dati odgovore u ovom udžbeniku.U prvom poglavlju „Odrednice razvoja turizma“ autor je istražio i analizirao utje-caj različitih pojava na razvoj suvremenog turizma. Također je objasnio pojam rasta i razvoja u turizmu, ulogu turizma u druš-tvenom razvoju te posebno utjecaj turizma na gospodarski razvoj Republike Hrvatske. Težište se stavlja na ekonomske funkcije tu-rizma koje generiraju direktne, indirektne i inducirane ekonomske učinke u turizmu. Even though tourism has been extensively included into a great deal of research and scientifi c literature, nevertheless certain seg-ments of tourism development have not been researched or published enough, especially in Croatia. In this coursebook the author is engaged in the research of tourism’s eco-nomic aspects, with emphasis on managing tourism development and especially entre-preneurship as founding factor of its devel-opment. The coursebook is structurally di-vided into two parts. The fi rst part is focused on tourism policy and development, while in the second part the focus is on entrepreneur-ship as the function of tourism development.The basic questions in this coursebook are: Why tourism should be managed and how to manage this complex socio-econom-ic phenomenon? How can tourism be suc-cessfully managed at the tourism destination level and in business organizations which are engaged in tourism business? In the search for the answers to these and other questions, the author has tried to provide the answers in this coursebook.In the fi rst chapter “Determinants of Tourism Development” the author has re-searched and analyzed the infl uence of vari-ous phenomena on contemporary tourism de-velopment. He has also explained the terms of growth and development in tourism, the role of tourism in social development and es-pecially the infl uence of tourism on econom-ic development of the Republic of Croatia. The emphasis is put on economic functions of tourism that generate direct, indirect and induced economic effects in tourism. As the 110 Acta Turistica, Vol 25 (2013), No 1, pp 109-112rizma u Hrvatskoj, u kojoj udio zaposlenih u ugostiteljstvu iznosi preko 6% ukupnog broja zaposlenih. Turizam doprinosi zapošljavanju i u tzv. komplementarnim djelatnostima (tr-govini, prometu, poljoprivredi, ribarstvu, in-dustriji i dr.), čime se u turizmu zapošljava izravno ili posredno oko 10% ukupnog broja zaposlenih u Hrvatskoj.U drugom poglavlju „Upravljanje prosto-rom u turizmu“ autor se bavi ekonomskom valorizacijom prostora kao čimbenika razvo-ja turizma. Detaljno su obrađena zaštićena područja u turizmu, kao i turizam i prostor-no uređenje. U ovom poglavlju posebno se obrađuju načini utvrđivanja kapaciteta nosi-vosti turističkog prostora. Treće poglavlje „Planiranje razvoja tu-rizma“ obrađuje metodologiju planiranja, prostorno planiranje u turizmu, trendove na turističkom tržištu kao polazište u planira-nju razvoja turizma. Težište ovog poglavlja autor stavlja na planiranje razvoja turizma u destinacijama, posebno na modele planiranja u turizmu. Središnji dio ovog poglavlja obra-đuje upravljanje održivim razvojem turizma. U četvrtom poglavlju „Upravljanje razvo-jem turističke destinacije“ obrađuju se speci-fi čnosti upravljanja turističkom destinacijom, modeli upravljanja turističkom destinacijom, funkcije upravljanja te posebno životni ci-klus turističke destinacije. Peto poglavlje „Upravljanje razvojem specifi čnih oblika turizma u destinaciji“ obrađuje obilježja specifi čnih oblika turizma te upravljanje razvojem specifi čnih oblika turizma u Hrvatskoj. Posebno je objašnjeno upravljanje razvojem nautičkog, zdravstve-nog te sportsko-rekreacijskog turizma.U šestom poglavlju „Uloga turističke po-litike u razvoju turizma“ objašnjeni su pojam i defi nicija turističke politike, ciljevi, nosite-lji i smjerovi djelovanja turističke politike, mjere turističke politike te utjecaj turističke politike na održivi razvoj turizma. Na kraju ovog poglavlja daju se odrednice nove turi-stičke politike u Republici Hrvatskoj. Teme-ljem analiziranih spoznaja glavni je zaklju-most important economic effects in Croatia’s tourism, the author analyses the share of tour-ism in the GDP (14-20%), the total value of export through tourism and the employment function of tourism in Croatia, as the share of employees in hospitality amounts to over 6% in the total number of employees. Tourism encourages the employment in the so-called complementary activities (trade, transporta-tion, agriculture, fi shery, industry, etc.), which results in 10% directly or indirectly employed workers in tourism, with respect to the total number of employees in Croatia. In the second chapter “Environmental Management in Tourism” the author’s focus is on economic valorization of the environ-ment as the factor of tourism development. Protected areas in tourism, as well as tourism and environmental arrangement are analyzed in details. In this chapter the ways of deter-mining carrying capacity of tourism areas are also analyzed.The third chapter “Tourism Development Planning” analyzes the methodology of plan-ning, environmental planning in tourism, and trends on tourism market as the basis for plan-ning tourism development. The emphasis in this chapter is put by the author on planning tourism development in destinations, espe-cially on the models for planning in tourism. The central part of this chapter deals with managing sustainable tourism development.  In the fourth chapter “Managing the Development of a Tourism Destination” the emphasis is on the specifi cs of tourism des-tination management, models of managing tourism destination, functions of managing and especially the tourism life-cycle. The fi fth chapter “Managing the Develop-ment of Special Interest Tourism in a Destina-tion” elaborates the characteristics of special interest tourism and its management in Croa-tia. A special explanation is given for the man-aging of nautical, health and sports tourism. In the sixth chapter “The Role of Tour-ism Policy in Tourism Development” the author provides the explanation for the term Recenzija sveučilišnog udžbenika: Upravljanje razvojem turizma i poduzetništva 111čak autora da turizam nema alternativu u gospodarskom razvoju Hrvatske.U drugom dijelu ovog udžbenika obrađu-je se poduzetništvo u turizmu. U sedmom poglavlju „Uloga poduzet-ništva i menadžmenta u razvoju turizma“ objašnjava se i analizira ekonomska ulo-ga poduzetništva u turizmu, organizacijski oblici i nositelji poduzetništva u turizmu te javno-privatno partnerstvo kao model podu-zetništva u hrvatskom turizmu. Osmo poglavlje „Ekonomska osnova poduzetničkih procesa u turizmu“ obrađuje najvažnije teme iz područja ekonomike po-duzetništva u turizmu. Objašnjava se uloga i načini upravljanja imovinom u turizmu, upravljanje troškovima, prihodima i po-slovnim rezultatima u turizmu. Posebno je obrađeno područje upravljanja ljudskim po-tencijalima te upravljanje produktivnošću i kvalitetom u turizmu. U posljednjem poglavlju udžbenika „Upravljanje poduzetničkim i investicijskim projektima u turizmu“ obrađuje se problem upravljanja investicijama u turizmu, meto-dološke osnove za izradu poduzetničkih i investicijskih projekata u turizmu. Na kraju su prikazani investicijski projekti u turizmu: Golf u hrvatskom turizmu, Wellness hotel te Turističko obiteljsko gospodarstvo.Ocjena udžbenikaPrema svom sadržaju i načinu pisanja, udžbenik „Upravljanje razvojem turizma i poduzetništva“ može se svrstati u red vrlo kompleksnih radova objavljenih u području turizma u Hrvatskoj. Autor je uspješno po-vezao razvoj turizma i poduzetništva u kome se poduzetništvo tretira kao krucijalni fak-tor razvoja turizma. Prema takvom konceptu udžbenik predstavlja novost u području znanstvenih publikacija u turizmu, ne samo u Hrvatskoj već i šire.Zbog svoje kompleksnosti, autor je pri-mijenio multidisciplinarni pristup koji je and defi nition of tourism policy, its goals, stakeholders, objectives and measures and the infl uence of tourism policy on the sus-tainable tourism development. At the end of this chapter the determinants of new tourism policy in the Republic of Croatia are defi ned. Based on the analyzed knowledge, the au-thor’s main conclusion is that tourism does not have the alternation in the economic de-velopment of Croatia. The second part of this coursebook deals with entrepreneurship in tourism.In the seventh chapter “The Role of En-trepreneurship and Management in Tourism Development” the economic role of entrepre-neurship in tourism is explained, as well as its organizational forms and stakeholders, and the public-private partnership as a tourism entrepreneurship model in Croatian tourism. The eighth chapter “The Economic Ba-sis of Entrepreneurial Processes in Tourism” deals with the most important topics of the entrepreneurship economics in tourism. The role and ways of managing assets in tourism are explained, as well as managing the ex-penditures, revenues and business results in tourism. A special emphasis is put on the area of human resource management and manage-ment of productivity and quality in tourism. In the last chapter “Managing Entrepre-neurial and Investment Projects in Croatian Tourism” the issues with managing invest-ments in tourism are elaborated, as are the methodological presumptions for developing entrepreneurial and investment projects in tourism.
