Isatin-3-thiosemicarbazone derivatives and their metal complexes (Zn & Ni) were evaluated in vitro for their antibacterial activities against selected five bacterial strains, viz. gram-positive (Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923, Staphylococcus huminis) and gram negative (Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus vulgaris). It was observed that metal complexes had an enhanced activity compared to the ligand against some types of tested bacteria. Binding of the all molecules to DNA is through minor groove.</p
