Neem (Azadirachta indica A. Juss), a native to India sub-continent, is one of the multiple tree
species which is receiving worldwide recognition for its variety of bio-active principles. It is

Central and South America including Caribbean, Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands. It is
successfully grown in arid, semi-arid, wet tropical and sub-tropical climates and is tolerant to

high temperature up to 49 C. In recent times, Neem is getting much attention as an economic
tree because of growing uses of Neemproducts at global level in agriculture as well as on items
used in daily life such as medicines, pesticides, mosquito repellents, fertilizers, diabetic foods,
soaps, lubricants, gums, agriculture implements, tooth paste, tooth sticks and even
contraceptives. At present, many Indian companies are currently engaged in processing Neem
seeds for extracting azadirachtin. A large number of liquid and powdered formulations of
