The paper proposes a model reference adaptive control method for SRM
drives. The main goal of the
drive control is to improve dynamical performance by compensating for the motor
nonlinearities. The
proposed ripple reduced method changes only the turn-on and the turn-off angle
in function of the
speed and current reference. One of the advantages of using this method is that
it does not need the
real-time calculation or measuring the motor torque. Simulation
and experimental results are
presented
