ANALISIS KESULITAN BELAJAR DITINJAU DARI KEMAMPUAN KONEKSI MATEMATIKA PESERTA DIDIK

Abstract

This is a field reseach performing diagnostic tests to analyze the difficulties oflearners in narrative form. Subject of the study were 21 students at SMAN 1Rambatan, West Sumatera. They were given about the test designed to measure theirmathematical connection abilityby adjusting the questions to analyze their learningdifficulties. Interviews were conducted among students classified with learningdifficulties. The data were analyzed with data tabulation procedures, analyzing theresults of the test, reducing the data, presenting data and drawing conclusions. Afterthat, they were validated by using data triangulation. The results obtained, thestudents turned out to have learning difficulties in mathematics are three kinds ofconnection indicator. The difficulty is illustrated by the inability of students tounderstand the concepts, symbols and spatial relations in trigonometry. The learners‟inability to view visual objects such as identifying information about the overall andnot able to explain the information that learners get and learners are not able tocombine the visual and motor skills in solving a given problem
