KUTUP-L, ülkemizde alanımıza ait ilk tartışma listesi olarak 1991 yılında ortaya çıkmış ve hala aktif olarak kullanılmakta olan bir tartışma listesidir. Bu çalışmada KUTUP-L listesine 2017 yılının ilk dört ayında gönderilen mesajların konuları incelenmektedir. KUTUP-L’ye gönderilen mesajların konularında bir değişiklik olup olmadığının anlaşılması için elde edilen bulgular konu ile ilgili KUTUP-L üzerine yapılmış benzer bir çalışma olan Karabulut (2010) ile karşılaştırılmıştır. Türkiye’de alanımızda gerçekleşen iletişimin uluslararası iletişimden farklı olup olmadığını ortaya koymak için ise benzer bir uluslararası tartışma listesi olan IFLA-L listesine 2017 yılının ilk dört ayında gönderilen mesajların konuları aynı şekilde incelenerek KUTUP-L ile karşılaştırılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular, her iki listenin de aktif olarak duyuru amaçlı kullanıldığını göstermektedir. KUTUP-L’de en çok yer bulan mesajlar vefat/taziye, kutlama ve tebrik mesajları iken IFLA-L’e en çok konferans duyurusu yapma amaçlı mesajlar gönderilmektedir. Yaklaşık 10 yıl önceki KUTUP-L mesajlarının konusal analizinin yer aldığı Karabulut (2010) çalışması ile yapılan karşılaştırma listeye en çok mesaj gönderilen konuların değişmediğini göstermiştir. 2005-2008 dönemi için alan dışı mesaj oranı %44 iken 2017 yılı için bu oran %38 olarak bulunmuştur. Çalışmanın bulguları listelerin alandaki önemli ya da güncel konuların tartışılması amacıyla kullanılmadığını göstermektedir.KUTUP-L is a discussion list that emerged in 1991 as the first debate list of our field in our country and is still actively being used. In this study, the topics of the messages sent in the first four months of 2017 to the KUTUP-L list are examined. The findings were compared with Karabulut (2010), which is a similar study on KUTUP-L, in order to find out whether there are any changes in the subjects of the messages. The messages that were sent to IFLA-L, which is a similar international discussion list in the field, in the same period with KUTUP-L were analysed to obtain if the international communication is different. The findings show that both of the lists are actively used for announcement purposes. While the messages most frequently found in KUTUP-L are death / condolence, congratulations, and congratulatory messages, messages that are sent to IFLA-L mostly aims to make conference announcements. The comparison with the Karabulut (2010) study, which analyses the subject of messages that were sent to KUTUP-L almost 10 years ago, shows that the topics that are most frequently sent to the list have not changed. While the percent of non-field messages for the period 2005-2008 was 44%, it was 38% for the year 2017.
