A TRAJETÓRIA DE JOÃO DIAS DE ARAÚJO EM TEMPO DE DITADURA: DO SEMINÁRIO PRESBITERIANO DO NORTE À JUSTIÇA DO TRABALHO "The path of João Dias de Araújo during the dictatorship: form the Northern Presbyterian Seminary to the Justiça do Trabalho"

Abstract

O objetivo central deste artigo é destacar alguns acontecimentos da trajetória do pastor João Dias de Araújo, ocorridos durante as décadas de 1960 e 1970. Na maior parte deste período atuou como docente do Seminário Presbiteriano do Norte, na cidade do Recife. Atividade que após 1964 foi marcada pela vigilância e perseguição praticada pela Igreja Presbiteriana do Brasil e pelos órgãos de segurança e informação. Neste contexto, em 1970, foi expulso daquela instituição de ensino, tendo dado início a um prolongado embate na Justiça do Trabalho contra o Seminário e a Igreja. Neste artigo utilizamos o método da escrita de trajetória, não a entendendo como algo uniforme, único e linear. Buscamos analisar as rupturas, inconstâncias e deslocamentos na vida do pastor João Dias. Por meio do estudo dessa trajetória, concluímos como tentou se associar a denominação de comunista ao pastor, desqualificando suas ações.Palavras-chave: Golpe civil-militar. Perseguição. Repressão.AbstractThis article’s main goal is to highlight some events from the lifetime of the pastor João Dias de Araújo, which occurred during the 1960s and the 1970s. For the biggest part of this period, he worked as a teacher at the Northern Presbyterian Seminary, in Recife. After 1964, his teach activity was marked by the surveillance and harassment used by the Brazilian Presbyterian Church and by the Government’s security and intelligence agencies. On this context, in 1970, the pastor was expelled from the seminary, therefore he started a long dispute at the Justiça do Trabalho against the Seminary and the Presbyterian Church. In this article we use the trajectory of writing method, does not understand it as something uniform, unique and linear. We analyze the breaks, inconsistencies and displacement in the life of Pastor João Dias. By studying this course, we conclude as he tried to associate the name of the Communist pastor, disqualifying their actions. Keywords: Civil-military coup. Persecution. Repression
