O artigo faz uma breve exposição do pensamento de Santo Tomás de Aquino acerca da liceidade da vida militar e do conceito de guerra justa, bem como sua justificativa teológica, no âmbito das Cruzadas, das Ordens militares. Para isso, recorre inicialmente à fundamentação bíblica.
