Employee turnover is generally regarded as an undesirable burden that organizations must bear. Many if not most managers, however, would prefer to have some control over the turnover of employees in their organizations. In this study a model of the process by which employees choose to either leave their jobs or stay with these jobs was developed and subjected to empirical testing. This model was designed to facilitate management\u27s control of the turnover process. Because the model considers those employees who stay as well as those who leave, however, it is referred to as a turnover/nonturnover model
