The importance of milk production in beef cattle

Abstract

IN recent years there has been a great deal of comment on the need for dairy blood in the State\u27s beef industry. There seems to have been some confused thinking on this matter. There is no doubt at all that a beef dam should be able to produce enough milk to do its calf well. But there is nothing to gain and a great deal to lose if too much emphasis is placed on milking qualities without reference to beef qualities
