The article analyses the problem of formation of national identity through musical activity. Musical activity is an effective means of upbringing of a young personality that influences one’s whole maturity, personal experience, motivation, and etc. This activity is one of the most significant factors of upbringing of national identity. Theoretical presumptions of upbringing of national identity through musical activity that are presented in the article create an opportunity to look for effective means for development of a civic-minded personality who is aware his/her national identity.
