The aim of the study is to explore and compare coping strategies used by sexually abused adolescent girls and their mothers as well as peers which were estimated by COPE questionnaire. The pairs of 112 teenage girls from 13 till 17 years old and their mothers took part in the research: 33 sexually abused girls and their mothers in the research group and 79 girls without sexual abuse experience and their mothers in the comparative group. The data reveal which strategies are used more frequently to cope with sexual abuse trauma matching with the compared group. Further research is needed to explore developmental and familial explanations of the usage of coping strategies and validate the data.
