ALIMENTAÇÃO DO TIBIRO, Oligoplites palometa, (PERCIFORMES, CARANGIDAE) CAPTURADO NO LITORAL OCIDENTAL DO MARANHÃO E DESEMBARCADO NO MUNICÍPIO DA RAPOSA, ILHA DE SÃO LUIS-MA, BRASIL

Abstract

A alimentação do Oligoplites palometa, foi investigada analisando-se o conteúdo estomacal de 645 indivíduos, capturados com rede de emalhar do tipo Serreira em três áreas de pesca do litoral ocidental do Maranhão. O comprimento total médio foi de 42,5 cm para fêmeas e 40,8 cm para machos. Do total de estômagos analisados apenas 18,9% apresentaram item alimentar. A frequência de ocorrência foi usada para apontar estratégias alimentares utilizadas pela espécie. O resultado mostrou os peixes como item mais importante da dieta. Os meses de Julho/2007 e Agosto/2007 apresentaram a maior atividade alimentar. O fator de condição apresentou as maiores médias anuais para machos e fêmeas no mês de maio/2008, sendo 0, 069 e 0, 030, respectivamente. Os resultados sugerem que o Oligoplites palometa é piscívoro e que não apresenta grande variação na dieta durante o ano.Palavras-chave:   Dieta, estratégia alimentar, litoral ocidental, Maranhão.AbstractFood of tibiro Oligoplites palometa, (Perciformes, Carangidae) capturing the west coast of Maranhão and landed in the city of Raposa, island of Sao Luis-MA, BrazilThe diet of the Oligoplites palometa, was investigat analyzing the content of 645 individuales, captured wint gill net of the Serreira type in three different points of the Coast Westery of the Maranhão. The condition factor presented the annual average greaters for males and females in the month of Maio/2008, being 0,069 and 0,030 respectively.
